Destructive yet Beautiful

It simply amazes me something so destructive can give us so much beauty.  Last night as I watched the sun disappear behind the mountains I also watched the fire come into clear sight.

This is the Colockum Pass fire.  It is currently at about 10,000 acres and has left homes to ash.  It is continuing to grow and threaten more homes.

Last night was spent with some great friends who we don't get to see much.  What an enjoyable evening filled with laughs and new memories!

The kids and I have been enjoying this little visiter during our mornings while we have breakfast.  We are beginning to think we need to name him or her.  

The joys of getting to help

This summer the boys have really gotten to help their dad out on the farm.  Fixing a circle is their least enjoyable job but that's just life as Josh put it to them.

This break down isn't the typical break down.  Usually we don't just drive right up to the circle and fix it, but this break was a bit more work.  Flat tire, broken gear box and a broken drive line.  Bonus was that it was the hay field so Josh made the called to drive right to the circle and make the job a little less work.

Desert Hoops Camp

For the past couple days the boys have been attending a basketball camp in Ephrata.

They learned ALOT and had a TON of fun!

Hans won an award while at camp.  He was the Champion for the "Battleground" competition.  He out dribbled all the other kids in his group.  His group was 3rd grade and younger.  Good Job Hans!

Hair Cuts!!!!

Back in June, Josh decided it was time for a Major hair cut for himself.

The hair was out of control!!!!

 So when it was a good friends birthday Josh decided what better time.  Plus Kurt has always dreamed of being a barber.

Kurt really wanted Josh to leave the unicorn look.  I think NOT Kurt!

This last week, Josh decided it was time for the boys to trade their long winter looks in for some summer haircuts.

Winston is really hoping his will grow REALLY fast!
