Who needs Snowmobiles

Seriously, who would need a snowmobile when you could have a go-cart instead.  The past few weeks the boys and their dad put these go-carts together and they have been LOVING riding them in the snow.  Josh has promised me that by having them race go-carts in the snow it will make them SUPER GREAT drivers when they get of age.  I on the other hand think I better start setting money aside for all the tickets they are going to get.

Hans has reassured me that he can see.  I'm not so sure.

The Princess turns 2

Our birthday Marathon is over for this year and it ended with Alyee turning 2.  I can honestly say that this sweet little girl is coming out of her shell and showing just how girlie she really is.  For her birthday her daddy bought her an entire princess outfit and she LOVED it!!!  She wasn't too into the crown until it came time to blow her candles out and then she wore it proud.

Sure is amazing how fast they grow up.

Turning 5!

Last weekend Hans Thomas turned 5!!  The birthday party that had been planned for him didn't happen due to him and his brother being sick but he still turned 5!  It ended up being a pretty good birthday with cake and ice cream and lets not forget PRESENTS!

Before he could blow-out his candles he had to count them and make sure mom did indeed put 5 candles on his cake.  He was VERY excited to be turning 5!

Hans got lots of very special birthday gifts from everyone.

But the 1 present he wanted the most he actually got, a RED SCOOTER.  aka Razor.
Thanks Uncle Lyndsy, Aunt Ashley and cousins Hayden & Payton.  Totally worth the wait.

Thanksgiving 2010

The month of November was a very CRAZY month to say the least but with all the craziness we still found time to enjoy the holiday.  Each of the boys classes put on a small little program for their families.

Hans preschool sang songs which were very enjoy and entertaining all at the same time.

Winston class put together a skit about the Mayflower, Pilgrims, and the Indians.  Along with the skit they also sang some songs that I remembered singing when I was in school.  So fun watching them grow and learn.

And then of course there was Thanksgiving.  The kids enjoyed some sledding and playing all the snow Uncle Tim had piled up.

And with all holidays there is always time for games and cards.

Make a wish

Birthdays are special in this family.  Maybe that's because it gives us an opportunity to goof off as a family for a whole day or to do something special for that special person.  Regardless of why, it was Sallys' turn to turn another year older and we were all surrounded around her while she blew her candles out (with help) and make another wish for another trip around the sun.  Hope it was a GREAT birthday.

The day was spent raking leaves for her (which they have never all been racked at once.... EVER)!!

Some rock throwing

And being the recipient of the rock throwing.

All in all, I'd say it was a GREAT birthday with many very memorable moments.

WOW 19 days of nothing

I can't believe it has been 19 days and I haven't posted a thing!!!  So sorry these pictures are soooooooo late but I think you will still find them enjoyable to look at.  Halloween, not one of my favorite holidays of the year but that is why I have the husband I have.  He always makes it fun for the kids and shows them that you never get to old to trick-or-treat.
This year we had 2 oops I mean 3 football players and 1 very cute ladybug.  Pay close attention to the boys GREAT make-up job, they did it all by themselves.  I should have taken pictures of the bathroom but that thought didn't cross my mind until after it was all cleaned up and I cooled off.  Patience's is something I'm still learning.

Trick-or-Treat

Sure hope everyone had a
GREAT
and
Happy Halloween.

Part 2

After hiking it was off to the pumpkin patch.  It was fun to watch all the kids walk through the pumpkin patch trying to find that perfect pumpkin.  The afternoon was spent carving pumpkins and enjoying some fun games together.  Thanks to the whole family for a once again a GREAT family day!!!

Roberts Day part 1

About a week ago, the whole Roberts family had a fun day full of adventure and laughs.  We started the day out with a morning of breakfast at Mardon and then a hike.  When you hike with the Roberts, it's not so much about the hike as it is what you find on the hike.  There were some very good treasures found that day.

"Chrome" is Alive

A few months back, Hans was working at the shop with his Grandpa when he discovered something tucked way in the back of the shop.  He managed to haul it out and push it all the way outside to show his Grandpa what he had found.  It was "Chrome", Josh's old motorcycle from when he was a kid.  After some debate, Grandpa told Hans he would get it fixed and running so he could ride it.  Well that day came yesterday.

When Josh and I got back from our quick trip to Seattle, we found both our boys out riding a motorcycle.  I'm not sure if I was completely ok with the fact that they were now on 2 wheels, rather than 4, but the smiles on their faces seem to tell me they are both ready.

Thank you Grandpa!!  It just goes to show why it is so important to take care of what we have, you just never know when it might be needed again.

Please don't turn us in, the boys do own helmets and will be wearing them from NOW ON!!  Besides, they weren't going much faster than if they were riding their peddle bikes.

Curls

The other day at the store I saw these curlers that my mom used to use in my hair back in the day, so it got me thinking how much fun it would be to put them in Alyee's hair.  Believe it or not, the girl LOVES to have her hair done.  She sat through the whole thing and handed me each curler and said, "Oh Pretty".

Can you say, "Daddy's little girl".  Josh made the comment to Alyee about how pretty her hair was and before he knew it Alyee and I where putting curlers in his hair.  He was a great sport about it and she thought it was so funny.  Of course, the boys walked around calling dad a girl the rest of the night.

The next mornings end result.
It lasted for about 1 hour, she has hair just like her mothers.  To make those curls stay it would have taken a bottle of hair spray and a whole lot of goop.  But, it was so worth it to see her with those cute curls for that 1 hour.

It is well known that to be a Roberts, you have to be able to do the "Lip Curl".  So after all the curlers where daddy and Alyee's hair we sat around practicing the Lip Curl with the kids.  I have to say, I think we made some improvement since the last time we practiced with them.

No more Soccer

After 6 VERY long weeks, soccer has finally come to an end.  Having both boys play made for a very fun and crazy season.  At times I felt like I was living in my car with all the driving back and forth to town, but we made it and it was lots of fun.

By far, the best part of the season was watching Hans and cousin Hayden play together and against each other.  They both did a great job.

Winston also had a great season.  He played with a few of his buddies and did very well.  It was so fun to watch his brothers games and then watch his and see just how far he has come since Hans age.  My boys are growing up.

Let's not forget these 2 girls who are looking forward to the day they get to step on the soccer field.  Watch out everyone, these aren't your typical little girls.  These 2 are full of spunk and aren't afraid to get in on all the action.

Lucky #7

As I watched Winston enjoy his birthday it made me realize just how fast time gets away from us.  It doesn't seem possible that my oldest child could possible be 7!!!  It was written all over his face just how much he enjoyed his birthday.

First up, Cinnamon Rolls for breakfast (his FAVORITE)!!
Next, a great day at school with friends, treats and heads-up 7up
Last but not least, an evening full of family, pizza, cake and gifts!!

"It was my favorite birthday" he told me as I tucked him into bed and kissed him good-night.

Petco was all I needed to see to realize that Winston was going to get the 1 thing he wanted most of all, A LIZARD!!!  I think after talking with everyone he must have asked all his Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and even cousin Hayden!!  He was going to get that lizard one way or another.

Meet Tuna!

Alyee had about the same reaction I had, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME"!

Treats and Games with his classmates.

Make sure you think of a good wish.

Trying out a birthday gift.

tree's and more tree's

A couple of weekends ago my parents got 52 evergreen tree's that all needed homes.  So the kids and I loaded up and headed out to help.  There is something very rewarding about planting a tree at a small size and watching it grow into something big over time.  I think its important to teach our kids the meaning of taking care of what we have and showing them that it does pay off down the road.

The boys were hard at work with Grandpa.  Boys and their toys.

Now they just have to all grow big and beautiful.  The pile of bones was something the boys discovered and thought it was absolutely COOL!!  Nothing like finding animals from the past.

Just Embrace it

It was inevitable that another year was going to come and pass I just wasn't so sure how excited I was about it.  Turning 30 wasn't as hard as I had thought it would be but it was that for the first time in 30 years I didn't have my grandma to call and say happy birthday too and hear her voice wish me a happy birthday.  She is missed everyday.

With that said, my husband did an amazing job of throwing me the BEST 30th birthday bash every.  I was surrounded by family, friends and lots of kids.  We had a horseshoe tournament, lots of food, a treasure hunt for the kids and 1 heck of a candle for the cake, a bond fire.  It was truly a wonderful day and I am very proud of the job Josh did to make it all come together and work.

Thank you to everyone who played apart in it and for the help they did to help him.

Kids enjoying their treasure hunt

Horseshoes, if you know our family then you know we are a little on the competitive side.

Props to Ashley for getting this AMAZING picture of me lighting the straw stack.
Your awesome!!
