my crazy, fun loving family

Last weekend my sister and John were able to make a trip home for a visit.  So mom decided it would be a good time to get a Christmas Card picture done.  It was entertaining and crazy all at the same time.  Always a challenge to get us all looking in the same direction, eyes open and use the time delay.  Good time!!

Here's the crew plus the little sweet baby girl in my sisters tummy!!!!

Grandpa and Gram with their challenging, funny, and over the top crazy grandkids.

Mom had asked to have a picture of all her kids with their spouses but we went with the 3 originals.
Never a dual moment.

SNOW!!!!!!

Monday morning came and these 3 couldn't get outside fast enough to enjoy the snow that had fallen over night.  We had huge snowballs being built, snowman, snow angles and oh course eating snow.  Lots of fun was had Monday!  I'd say it was a GREAT day off from school.

Quarter 1....... completed!!

First quarter of school is always filled with so many things that I look forward to such as school pictures and teacher conferences.

I actually love seeing the kids school pictures each year and comparing them to last years.  Amazing how much they change in just 1 year.

As for Teacher Conferences Josh and I couldn't be more proud of our boys and how well they are both doing in school.  Both are doing an excellent job and improving each week with their skills.  Makes a mom so happy to see that your kids hard work pays off and puts a huge smile on their face when they see and hear just how well they are doing.  Love you both and are very proud of you both.  Keep up the good work.

Pumpkin Carving 2012

The Roberts family has a few tradition that we look forward to each year.  Pumpkin Carving has become Uncle Brian and Aunt Tamars little family gathering.  We all gather at their house and have a wonderful meal followed up with LOTS of pumpkin carving.
Each year we get a little more creative and better.

Josh carved so many pumpkins it turned him into a pumpkin.

Winston carved his whole pumpkin himself this year.  Start to finish.

Hans working hard at getting just the right face for his Jack-O-Lantern

Alyee painted her pumpkins and she even painted some sea shells Grandma had brought.
The smile shows how much she enjoyed it.

It's not a complete pumpkin carving day without a Grandkid picture for Grandpa and Grandma.  How grown up they are all getting.

I say it was a very successful family day filled with lots of good memories.

NINE!!!

Hard to believe but it's correct Winston is offically 9 years old.

To celebrate we let him have all 12 of his friends out to the farm for a "FARM FUN BIRTHDAY".  Josh did bee-bee gun shooting with them and they ran through the yard and played Cowboy's and Indian's.  I also had all 12 of them sleepover.  We have never done a sleepover before, go big or go home I suppose.

It was a ton of fun and can't wait to do it again.  Something about having kids run wild with huge smiles on their faces makes it all worth it.  Plus they are all super great kids.

Happy Birthday to us!

This evening as I sat and enjoyed this absolutely beautiful sunset I thought about my very loved and missed Grandma.  Tomorrow is her birthday (as is it mine also), and I wish she was still here to celebrate with me.   I would love to be able to blow the candles out together and hug her.

Happy Birthday Grandma!  I love you.

Welcome Fall

With Fall comes beautiful, rich, vibrant sunsets.  However, not sure this sunset was due to it being Fall.  Unfortunately a large amount of Western Washington is currently still burning leaving a blanket of smoke over most of Central Washington.  With all the smoke in the air we have enjoy some magnificent sunsets this one however sceams FIRE to me.  Hoping the fires get under control very soon and our State can start to pick up all the pieces and begin the healing process.

Ready, Set, Hike!

Wearing #19 and playing running back is Winston Roberts.  He is also playing a little defensive line and doing quite well at it.  It has been fun to watch him learn the game and understand the game of football.  Now if only I could also understand the game.  Yikes, this mom needs a 101 on football if her boys are going to continue playing this sport.

I hope he always wears this smile on any field he plays on.

Summer days

As I look through so many pictures that I took through summer this one just made me laugh and realize what a great summer these cousins had together.  Spending almost everyday with each other.

Every kid should have a ditch in their backyard to play in.

Preschool here I come!

That's right, our baby girl is officially in Preschool.  (Lord help her teacher find patience and guidance).

She was more than ready for her first day.  In fact, she jumped out of the car and ran to the door.  Hung her backpack up, washed her hands, checked herself in and said, "ok you can leave now, bye".  I was sad and happy for her all at once.  Our princess is very independent, no idea where she gets that from.

Don't ask....  I have no idea what this was all about.  Crazy kids!

Bitter sweet

I always find it hard to see the kids go back to school for another year, I know CRAZY!  I think it just boils down to realizing they are growing up and getting older.  I do love watching them run off to the front doors of their school with HUGE smiles on their faces excited for another day of learning.  Love you boys!!  Hope you have a year filled with excitment, lots of learning and great memories.

10 YEARS!

Crazy how fast time goes.  Today we celebrate our 10 year anniversary.  And although we didn't celebrate at the ocean or in Hawaii we had one of our most memorable Anniversary's ever.

We started our day with some golfing, which I must say I'm getting better at.

Followed with a sunset dinner and a night under the Blue Moon!  Yes that's right we stayed the night on our very own boat in the middle of the Lake!  (well technically we made it to mid-night, I freaked out and couldn't do it anymore)  It was very much "once in a blue moon" occasion.

It was a great anniversary and we are looking forward to many more!

Beer making 101

For Josh's Birthday Brian and Tamar got him a beer making kit so it was only fitting to have them over for some dinner and have them help Josh out for his first try at it.

Josh with his sack....

Stirring and making sure it's at the right temperature.

The four of us ALWAYS have WAY to much fun.  Thanks Brian and Tamar for a great evening full of help and LOTS of laughs.

Another year over

Today was the last day of school for the boys.  Crazy to think that another year has come and gone and I now have a 3rd grader, 1st grader and Alyee ready for pre-school.  Time just doesn't slow down know matter how much you would like it too.

Winston with his gift for his teacher.

Hans with his gift for Mrs. Sheneman.

And can you tell Alyee is more than thrilled it's the last day of school and she will have her boys back at home to play with?  She loves her boys, as she would put it.

Junior Joggers night

Ephrata's Lions Club puts together a dinner every year for the kids who earn double miles in junior joggers.  Once again Winston was a crazy runner for the year and completed 420 laps and 105 miles.

Holy Smokes.... I'm 33?

What's a birthday without a change of plans.  That is usually always the case on Josh's birthday.  We had planned to enjoy the evening on our boat with the kids but like most birthday's it was raining so we had to go to plan B.  A quiet and relaxing family dinner in town followed with cake at home!  It was a very enjoyable evening spent just as Josh wanted.

He really enjoys all my pictures and I'm not sure he was thrilled about turning another year older.

It was close but he managed to get all 33 candles out in 1 try.  We love you daddy to the moon and back.  Your the best!!!

1st cutting DONE!

I'm sure your laughing that I consider our 1 acre worthy of calling 1st cutting, but Josh says hay is hay and he's aiming for Hay King this year.  Isn't he funny!

Isn't he cute on his little tractor with his baler.  He was even more excited that he got it up before all this rain.  Seriously it's 1 acre babe!

Baseball 2012

For the past few weeks the boys have been playing baseball and LOVING it.  As usually, Josh coaching along with a few of his buddies.  We truly are a baseball family.  We look forward to many years of watching the boys play and enjoy the game of baseball.

Wearing #9 is Hans.  This kids truly lives for sports.....

and getting as DIRTY as possible!

Wearing #11 this year is Winston!
Winston has shown TONS of improvement and will be moving up next year to minors.  It is so wonderful to see how far kids come in such short time frames.  Josh is overwhelmed with how GREAT Winston's batting form is.  He's a natural.

It's all about the home plate slide.  LOVE that our boys love getting so dirty.  It's always a battle at the end of the game to see which one is dirtier.  BOYS!
